Stella Kubale / Chilterns MS Centre
The Chilterns MS Centre was set up in 1985 by local people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their families, to provide coordinated long term care and support that is not available anywhere else in our area. Our aim is to help people cope with distressing and disabling symptoms so they can continue to make the best of their lives. Our vision is to become a ‘beacon’ for other MS support charities by developing and sharing new approaches to care and treatment. We run one of the largest MS therapy centres in the UK, based near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire where we provide free physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, oxygen therapy, occupational therapy and a wide range of complementary therapies. We also offer social activities, counselling and support for carers. This makes our Centre a lifeline for people with MS – providing a package of expert care in a supportive environment that is tailored to each individual. We work closely with the NHS and all our service users are referred to us by their GP, neurologist or MS nurse.
